I don’t like to have too many Outlook screens open simultaneously as I tend to have so many other screens open. Instead, I prefer to switch between Outlook screens, as needed. The quickest and easiest way to do this is to use keyboard shortcuts. These are the ones I use most frequently on my Windows, desktop version of Outlook:

  • Switch to Mail view: CTRL + 1
  • Switch to Calendar: CTRL + 2
  • Switch to Contacts: CTRL + 3
  • Go to a different folder: CTRL + y
I file emails in a folder structure, so I often reference other folders. Once the folder window pops up, you can start typing to navigate it. Pressing the enter key then takes you to the selected folder.
  • Switch to the Inbox: CTRL + SHIFT + i
