If you have a website that you visit regularly you may want to avoid the repeated work of opening your browser and accessing the site. Instead, you can add that page to your Windows Taskbar. Clicking on the icon opens that page in your browser.

Here's how to add a webpage to the Windows Taskbar from Edge.

  1. Open Edge and navigate to the webpage you want to add to the Windows Taskbar.
  2. At the top right of the Edge window, click on the Ellipses icon
  3. From the pop-up menu click on "More tools"
  4. From the cascading menu select "Pin to taskbar"
  5. An icon will be pinned to your Taskbar. If you want to remove it at a later time, right click on the icon and select "Unpin from taskbar".

If you use Chrome, you can do the same, it just requires an extra step.

Here's how to add a webpage to the Windows Taskbar from Chrome.

  1. Open Chrome and navigate to the webpage you want to add to the Windows Taskbar.
  2. At the top right of the Chrome window, click on the Ellipses icon
  3. From the pop-up menu click on "Create shortcut"
  4. A window will open confirming the website address, click on "Create" to make the shortcut, which will be added to your desktop.
  5. You could access the webpage from that shortcut, but to add it to the Taskbar, right click and from the pop-up menu select "Pin to taskbar".
  6. The icon will be pinned to your Taskbar. If you want to remove it at a later time, right click on the icon and select "Unpin from taskbar".
