London and the UK want to be safe places to do business. Part of that is having a robust investigative team to prosecute offenders.
City of London Police is inviting tenders to update Action Fraud, which is currently the national reporting centre for fraud and cyber crime. Reports to Action Fraud are sent to the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau, based in the City of London Police.
Action Fraud’s systems are deemed in need of an overhaul to keep up with advances in cyber crime technology and the increase in the number of criminal cases. It has also been criticised by journalists and consumer groups.
The ambition for this change is it will centralise intelligence and coordinate police resources and responses so that we are all better protected.
