The National Cyber Security Centre, a part of GCHQ, published this Monday (10 May 2021) their latest report from their Active Cyber Defence (ACD) programme.
The report serves as a reminder if any were needed, that Cyber Security needs to be at the forefront of our minds if we are to build a safe and prosperous digital UK.
ACD was formed to “protect the majority of people in the UK from the majority of the harm caused by the majority of the cyber attacks the majority of the time.”
In 2020 there was a fifteen-fold increase in the number of scams that were shut down by ACD’s expanded Takedown Service; that is more scams closed in the last year than in the three previous years combined.
A two-day virtual conference, CYBERUK, concludes today (12 May 2021) and is expected to announce new measures to help organisations defend against possible incidents and security issues.
